Governor Newsom just signed the creation of California’s first new conservancy in over 15 years, dedicated entirely to restoring the Salton Sea. From a major habitat expansion already drawing thousands of fish and birds, to a planned 9,400-acre network of ponds and wildlife habitat, real progress is happening on the ground, and this new body is designed to make sure it lasts.
