Comments on the Importance of Timely Action to Save the Salton Sea
SAN FRANCISCO - After years of delays and deliberations regarding restoration of the Salton Sea, action may finally be taken. After the release of the California Resources Agency's Ecosystem Restoration Preferred Alternative, the Legislature wil soon decide whether to spend $47 million on initial consensus work on the plan. Implementing restoration plans now could prevent habitat loss for more than 400 species of birds and increasingly dangerous air quality effects.
